Girlguiding UK Walks for the World
This is a Girlguiding UK fundraising initiative, which is running from April 2004 to February 2005.
We are hoping to raise half a million pounds over the year. Of the money raised, half will be given to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) – which has over 10 million members worldwide, and half will remain in the UK and will be used by local units.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support for Girlguiding UK and WAGGGS.
30 Brownies, Guides and Rangers in Corvedale, Craven Arms and Ludlow District took part in their own Walk for the World.
With a sponsored walk on Monday 25th October at 2.00pm in Mortimer Forest All Ability Trail at High Vinnalls.
This walk was organised by Alice Crowther a Ludlow Ranger and Year 11 student from Ludlow School. This activity will go towards her GCSE Citizenship course work. She was very pleased with the effort people made to come. Thirty young people and fifteen adults turned up for the walk. Thanks to Mark Crowley from Forest Enterprise for his advice.
