If you are a Guider or Commissioner you can still be a member, but only an Associate.
If you are over 18 and wish to join, do not wish to make the Guide Promise, but subscribe to the aims and principles of the Guide movement you could become an Affiliated member.
Shropshire Guilds are in the following areas:-
Bridgnorth Guild covers the town and surrounding area. The Guild meets monthly mostly in the evening with some day meetings.
Madeley Guild is situated in the Telford conurbation and has members from Madeley, Ironbridge and other ‘villages’ in the area. They meet in the evenings, monthly.
Mid Shropshire Guild meets in the Shrewsbury area in the evenings. Their monthly meeting are held in members’ homes when they are not visiting places of interest.
Oswestry Guild covers the Oswestry Division area and has members from Gobowen and Ellesmere as well as Oswestry and Wales. They meet monthly in Oswestry in the evening.
Shrewsbury Guild is the only Guild in the county which meets in the day. Some of their members come from Wem. They meet one morning a month in Shrewsbury town centre and are one of the biggest Guilds in the county.
Shropshire East Guild has members from Albrighton (near Wolverhampton), Shifnal and Sherifhales. They also meet monthly in the evenings, usually in members’ homes.
South Shropshire Guild covers the Ludlow Division from Church Stretton south. The group meets in Craven Arms on the second Tuesday of the month, but they also ‘get out and about’ especially in the summer months.
Wrekin Guild is the biggest Guild in the county as it covers quite a large area around Wellington, the western park of Telford. They have a monthly meeting and hold a couple of events each year involving the younger members of the movement.
County Postal Guild is useful for those Trefoil members who cannot get to meetings either because they have moved out of the area and still want to keep in touch, or they can no longer get out from home. News letters are sent to them during the year to keep them in touch.
