In January last year, 18 guides and 3 leaders from Ellesmere had a weekend away.
They tried aromatherapy, played Chess, had a quiz, Tangams and Logic Puzzles and sang to fluffy??
During the weekend they went on a one and a half-hour walk along public footpaths to find the Unicorn.
On the Saturday evening they had a candle lit dinner of spaghetti bolognese and baked Alaska.
Sunday they held a ‘Guides Own’ about ‘sticking up for what is right’ even it if means breaking the odd rule.

February saw sixers and seconders from Brownies packs in Ellesmere and Welsh Frankton, 14 in all, staying for a weekend at the Shropshire Guide Activity Centre. You can see the pictures on the "Photos" page
The theme of the weekend was International to coincide with Thinking Day and the girls ‘visited’ Hawaii, China and Italy.
They made Lei – Celtic Pattern Plates, a Chinese Dragon, had Highland Games and a fashion show.
On Friday evening they ate Pizza and Saturday had a Chinese Take-Away using chopsticks. Sunday was a traditional roast.
