L.O.V.E. Stands for "Learning Opportunities: the Volgograd Experience"
and we are working with the Volga Region because it is twinned with the Midlands Region of Girlguiding UK.
Our team of two leaders and five Senior Section traveled to Volgograd to teach English and Leadership skills at a RADS camp in July/August 2006. In this way we hoped to give members of RADS language skills to help them to obtain good jobs, for which English is essential, and to train Girl Scout Leaders in leadership skills which will make their Association stronger.
The members of our team will, in turn, learn skills from the Russians, who are excellent at imaginative wide games, improvising, especially at camp, and who have strong ideas about democracy in Guiding/Girl Scouting.
You may well have met the Russian Girls who came to SPLASH on a return visit.
They had a wonderful time learning about the UK and UK Guiding. Thanks VERY much to all of you who helped to raise the money to make that possible.
A new team is going to Russia again in 2008, as the first visit was such a success, and we will be raising money again.

The project will cost each member between £800 and £1000 so any contribution from units towards fundraising would be very welcome.
